Abstract

Problem: OT students from minoritized backgrounds experience a decreased sense of belonging & have difficulty advocating about their leadership qualities in a way that is recognized by admissions committees.

Purpose: Embed an evidence-based leadership development theory into existing mentorship curriculum to improve undergraduate students’ self-efficacy

Question: What effect does authentic leadership theory-based programming have on leadership skills and self- efficacy in minority undergraduate students interested in healthcare?
