Choosing your line: Training Adaptive Ski Instructors How To Facilitate Occupational Participation For Individuals With Complex Communication Needs.
Abstract
The project will explore communication methods for individuals with complex communication needs (CCN) in adaptive skiing, focusing on alternative communication methods and the development of a Picture Exchange Communication System. A communication training program for ski instructors will be implemented. Findings will advance occupational therapy by highlighting the role of self-directed communication and autonomy in promoting occupational engagement for individuals with CCN.
