Abstract
Purpose: To determine the impact of self-directed goals for long-term patients in a forensic hospital. This was a single group, pre-and post-test study.
Setting: Rhode Island State Psychiatric Hospital (RISPH). Forensic settings are where people with mental illness who have allegedly committed crimes gain competency to stand trial and undergo treatment for their mental illness.
