Background & Purpose:
• 1 million people in the United States living with Parkinson’s disease.
• 84% of people with PD report having a care partner who provides a wide range of support.
• Care partner engagement: defined as care partners participating in activities with the individual receiving care.
• Can produce beneficial patient outcomes
• Care partner engagement at RSBEG as of 2023:
• 2-3 care partners participating in class
• Limited participation in support groups
• Care partners drop off at the door
• Purpose: Implement a psychoeducation program for Parkinson’s disease care partners at RSBEG to increase care partner engagement
