Abstract

Children with disabilities including those with physical, cognitive, or serious health conditions, participate less in team sports and have limited opportunities to engage with peers without disabilities due to many barriers. Participation in organized sports provides physical, emotional, and social benefits for children with disabilities. Identifying and addressing these barriers is essential to foster inclusion and ensuring that all children can experience the benefits of meaningful sport participation. Team IMPACT bridges this gap by connecting children with disabilities to college sports teams to promote inclusion within a sports environment (Team IMPACT, 2022).
