Abstract
This project submission will be a creative retelling of the exhibit mentorship, museum collections, departmental collaborators, and external partners that came together to inspire an exhibit that advances the shared educational goals and historic celebration of RI250. The resulting exhibit was inspired by the RI250 Commission and Rhode Island’s place in America250, the nation's celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026. Sometimes inspiration comes from outside your own institution, and you find a way to insert your own resources into a broader initiative. Being part of something bigger has its advantages; marketing, recognition, access, timeliness, and greater scope.
