Abstract
Typography, the incorporation of type, is one of the key components that can impact the success of a project. Despite this, typography is something people either shy away from or completely neglect within a project. Given the opportunity to demonstrate the importance of typography, two poster designs were created to show the anatomy of two distinctly different typefaces. For this project, in-depth research was pivotal in designing a set of posters that balanced the aesthetic appeal and legibility of a design. The selection of fonts set the tone for the entire project. Use of thumbnail sketches formed the foundation of the digital iterations that led to the final design. This project provides a new, and much needed, perspective on typography.
