Abstract
La Masa de Los Ancestros is a project that illustrates the narrative of native heirloom corn, masa, Mexican cuisine, culture, and people within the region. The project highlights the ancient gifts passed down from the ancestors and brings light to this process of nixtamalizing corn, the process of cultivation, and the history it has brought to the people of the region and peninsula. It also dives into the culture and expansion of the cuisine from what we know today.
