Abstract

BACKGROUND

Limited information on the relationship between traumatic brain injury (TBI) and substance use in young adults. 3,592 young adults (15-24 years old) in Rhode Island (RI) sustained a TBI. The relationship between TBI and substance use is likely bidirectional.

OBJECTIVE

Examine any sociodemographic disparities in TBI. Understand the relationship between TBI and various types of substance use among young adults in Rhode Island.
