Cover illustration comments: The iron full-rigged ship BENMORE was built in 1871 at Glasgow, Scotland. After sailing under several foreign flags she was transferred to American registry in 1921, at which time her figurehead was repainted. Broken up in 1924. Original Figurehead at THE MARINERS MUSEUM, Newport News, Virginia.
